Jonathan (he/him) is a writer, lyricist, performer and independent researcher based in Glasgow.

 

Originally from Essex he moved to Scotland to study musical theatre at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and has never left.

Jonathan has a passion for creating innovative, socially-engaged musicals and is particularly interested in exploring queer heritage. He was recently awarded two research and creative fellowships from The Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas in Austin, and The Beinecke Rare Book Library at Yale University to undertake archival research informing a new historical audio-musical, The Order of Chaeronea. This new audio project is based on the secret gay victorian society of the same name and will be released during Pride month in 2027. It is co-produced by Sanctuary Queer Arts and Tin Can Audio, and funded by Creative Scotland.

 

In 2025, Jonathan was commissioned to research and write an audio documentary series based on Glasgow’s first queer football team, Saltire Thistles FC, The Saltire Thistle Story, supported by the Scottish Football Museum.

Performing credits include: To Save the Seas - Workshop (Sleeping Warrior Theatre) and Is He Musical? - Workshop (MP Theatricals).

Lyricist credits include: Jenny's Final Bow - written with Filip Holacky; Bon Appétit - written with various (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland).
