Our show Stay will be apart of the Autumn season for A Play, a Pie and a Pint. The show will be presented in collaboration with the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh.
The show follows an ex-couple, Kit and Rowan, standing at the edge of a park park with an urn and four years of unresolved history. They are here to scatter the ashes of a loved one but after the scattering ceremony flops, something draws both Kit and Rowan to stay. The show will be directed by Melanie Bell, and will star Daisy Ann Fletcher as Kit and Craig Hunter as Rowan.
The show came about after we were awarded the Bruce Millar Graduate Fellowship in 2021 from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. With additional support from the Dundee Rep, we were able to write the show and workshop it in June of 2022, with Ewan Black in the role of Rowan.
A bedrock of the Scottish theatre industry, and based at Òran Mór in the West End of Glasgow, A Play, a Pie and a Pint produces the most new-writing of any theatre in the UK – 35 new plays and runs for 42 weeks of the year. Every ticket includes admission to the play, a pie and an alcoholic or soft drink.
Stay will play at Òran Mór from 2nd-7th Oct and at the Traverse Theatre from 9th-14th Oct 2023.
